Rick Steves' Best of Eastern Europe

May 15th through May 29th, 2022

Howdy! We are Rebecca and Greg from Houston, Texas!

We have been watching Rick Steves on PBS and reading his guidebooks since the beginning. Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door originally stoked our desire to travel in Europe. Over the years we have used Rick Steves' philosophies and guidebooks to direct our travel. With COVID in full swing, we missed out traveling for two years. We decided to come back with our dream of doing a Rick Steves' tour!

The first big decision was which Rick Steves' tour to go on. They all look amazing. We chose Rick Steves' Best of Eastern Europe itinerary because it was an incredible itinerary and we felt that Eastern Europe would be one of the most complicated areas for us to do on our own. One big reason we chose to do this tour now is because we were still in the pandemic, and we trusted Rick’s company to do the right thing. Having someone to guide us through this trip made it stress free!

I’m going to confess; we have never taken a bus tour before. While we love meeting people while we travel, we don’t like to be surrounded by crowds. For this reason, we’ve always been wary of bus tours. Ultimately, we found that our small group added to the enjoyment of our trip. We met some wonderful people and had an unforgettable time.

On to the trip!

George Farkas, Travel Guide Extraordinaire!

George led us on this tour. His knowledge, humor, compassion, stories and experience made this tour exceptional. While this tour was our first Rick Steves' adventure, I feel like each guide has their own unique perspective to bring. George shared his vast knowledge, local food and drinks, and his love for his country with us. Thank you George for sharing this journey with us!
